Modern, appealing website for workers' welfare (AWO).

The aging digital design of Workers Welfare (AWO) should be designed and developed in a fresh, well-structured and user-friendly way during a website relaunch.

Challenge

The Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) is one of the six leading non-statutory welfare organizations in Germany and advocates freedom, equality, justice, solidarity and tolerance. As an independent and autonomous member association, the AWO is committed to a just and democratic society based on solidarity. The association's previous digital presence was visually very outdated and had considerable shortcomings in terms of clarity, user-friendliness and functionality, which made a website relaunch unavoidable.

Solution

Uhura impressed AWO with the design and development of a modern and responsive website - with a special focus on user interface, user experience and accessibility.

An optimized page structure, improved navigation and revised content types make it easier for front-end and back-end users to navigate the site. Specially designed landing pages for audiences such as help seekers, volunteers and the press provide quick access to important information.

A special highlight is the presentation of AWO's 32 regional and district associations in a clear organizational chart and on an interactive map. The site also features an optimized search function that offers specific search options for specific areas (such as press releases) as well as a global search with filter options.
