Website relaunch for the German Association of Journalists

A new website should be developed for the German Association of Journalists e.V., which breaks the complexity of the previous set-up, integrates the presentation of individual regional associations and offers a pleasant user journey.

Challenge

With approximately 27,000 members, the DJV e.V. is the largest journalist organization in Germany. The association represents the professional and media-political interests of Germany's full-time journalists. In 2023, the association was looking for a partner agency to optimize its existing website with a focus on design, clarity and user-friendliness.

Solution

Uhura developed the new website in a multi-stage UX/UI design process, implemented the complex technical infrastructure and CMS for several state associations and supported the migration of existing content. In addition to the new public website of the federal association, the system also includes the presentations of the state associations with their own specific structures and content. We also redesigned and implemented the journalisten.de website. The complex website is based on a Typo3 CM system and integrates several third-party modules for mail-out and member services.
